Yesterday, Concordia's Board of Directors held its annual meeting, including the election of board members and officers. We welcomed new board member Everett Snyder, and Amanda Carter was re-elected to another term on the board. Thank you both! We are grateful to Rev. Dean Christ for his willingness to fill the office of President in the coming year, and to Dick Lewallen, Amanda Carter, and Kristi Lovett for their willingness to continue serving in their offices for another year.
We also want to thank outgoing board members Rev. Geoff Boyle and Ken Wabel for their time and efforts. Pastor Boyle has been involved with Concordia Academy since the beginning of the idea in 2016. Since then he has led the effort, including helming the original steering committee and serving as the board's president since its incorporation in 2018. It would be an understatement to say he has put a lot of passion, knowledge, time, and effort into making Concordia Academy a reality. Without him, we could not have accomplished anything that we have done. We will miss him and his family greatly when he takes up his new position at the seminary in Ft. Wayne.
We will be hosting an open house on Saturday, April 23rd from 2:00-4:00 pm (come & go) at our new location, Immanuel Lutheran Church (909 S Market St).
Come tour our facilities, get more information about the school & about scholarships, meet our headmaster, talk to members of the board, and ask questions!
Several years ago, Grace Lutheran’s roof was improperly repaired, causing major water damage and mold growth that would need to be repaired and remediated before our school could open this fall. However, the problem has unfortunately been in legal and financial limbo ever since, necessitating the search for a new location for our school. Thanks be to God, we can now announce that we have another place to call home: Immanuel Lutheran Church (909 S. Market St). Immanuel has a large and secure building featuring numerous classrooms, a beautiful sanctuary, a gym with a stage, a choir/music room, kitchens, an interior courtyard, space for school lockers, and more, conveniently located just off Kellogg. We are grateful to Immanuel's council and congregation, and to our Headmaster, Dan Snyder, for their gracious support.
We also want to thank Grace Lutheran for opening their facilities to us for the last 5 years. Without their support, Concordia Academy probably wouldn’t have gotten off the ground. Please continue to pray for their roof situation, that God would provide the best solution for their congregation.
Enrollment for 9th grade is officially open! Thank you to all those who came to our open house on February 12th. We enjoyed meeting you!
Our application is available online here. We have scholarships available from half to full tuition for the 2022-2023 school year! For more information, contact us through the "contact" page or give us a call.
